Posted in

The Brownsville Public Utilities Board (BPUB) will conduct overnight valve replacement work on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016, beginning at 10 p.m. and ending on Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, at approximately 6 a.m. Approximately 400 residents living in the Southmost area may experience a temporary water interruption.

Residents living in the following areas may be affected by this maintenance work: Southmost Boulevard from Ruiz Street to Hortencia Boulevard and spanning the following streets: East 25th Street, East 26th Street, East 27th Street, East 28th Street, East 29th St, Chaparral Street, Ramirez Lane and Ruiz Street. Other streets in the area might experience low water pressure while the replacements are made.

Crews will repair a leaking six-inch water valve and install two new 12-inch water valves in the area to minimize the number of customers affected by future area water line maintenance operations. The work will be performed during nighttime hours to lessen inconveniences and will utilize crews working in coordination to minimize the amount of time customers will be without water service.
