BPUB Releases Drinking Water Quality Report
The Brownsville Public Utilities Board (BPUB) released its annual Drinking Water Quality Report, also known as the Consumer Confidence Report. It can be found online at the BPUB website, and it was also sent out to all customers as the June bill insert. People interested in reading more about BPUB’s water quality can also pick up a copy at the BPUB Administration Building.
The Drinking Water Quality Report is an annual report mandated by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality that provides consumers information about the quality of the water that comes out of their taps. It includes data on many different things, including the sources of water, educational health information as well as constituents found in the water. All drinking water, including bottled water, can contain some measure of constituents. The report also includes information on how you can contact BPUB with any questions or concerns.
BPUB’s water meets all state and federal guidelines for drinking water. In fact, BPUB has a superior rating for its water quality. These were some of the things that were discussed at a public meeting at the BPUB Administration Building to discuss this year’s Drinking Water Quality Report. BPUB employees were on hand to explain what all of the information meant and how to read the report. These employees were also there to field any questions that participants had.
This free presentation was a great opportunity for the general public to learn more about its drinking water, how BPUB treats that water and everything that is done to ensure that the water meets a very high standard.
