BPUB Increases Rebate for High-Efficiency Toilets
BROWNSVILLE — The Brownsville Public Utilities Board (BPUB) is increasing its rebate offering to residential customers who purchase and install WaterSense® certified high-efficiency toilets from $50 to $100 starting May 24 through Aug. 31, 2024.
The enhanced rebate aims to encourage more home owners to switch to water-efficient toilets, supporting community efforts in water conservation as the area continues to combat the impacts of drought.
Customers interested in taking advantage of this limited time offer must submit a completed application and proof of purchase of a WaterSense®-certified toilet. The installation address must match the address of the BPUB water service account. The rebate is limited to three high-efficiency toilets per account.
Rebates will be credited to BPUB accounts in the amount of $100 or the cost of the toilet, whichever is less, per toilet installed. Credits may take up to six weeks to be issued.
Applications and supporting documents can be submitted via email to [email protected] or at the BPUB Administration Building located at 1425 Robinhood Drive by Aug. 31.
“This rebate gives customers the opportunity to make an affordable upgrade to their homes that will instantly reduce the amount of water used with every flush,” said BPUB General Manager & CEO Marilyn D. Gilbert.
