Some BPUB Customers to Experience Water Service Interruption

The Brownsville Public Utilities Board (BPUB) announces there will be a water service interruption Thursday, Feb. 25, from 10 p.m. until approximately 8 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26, as crews install a fire hydrant and new valves. The service interruption will affect more than 300 customers.

The fire hydrant will be installed at Robindale Road and Jaime J. Zapata Avenue. Streets impacted by the temporary water service disruption include Robindale Road between Jaime J. Zapata Avenue and Rey Jaime Street, and Jaime J. Zapata Avenue from Robindale Road to Gonzalez Elementary School. Other streets affected are Rey Jaime Street, Rey Salomon Street, Rey Jorge Street, Rey Juan Carlos Street, Vivian Drive, Yoli Lane, Dalila Court, Vivian Drive, Magali Circle, Cattadori Court, Solid Drive, Diego Lane, Frank Avenue and Tito Court.

Work was scheduled for the evening to minimize the impact on customers as crews tie into the main water line for a new subdivision in the area, place a new fire hydrant and install two new 16-inch valves.
