“Fat, Oil and Grease” Campaign Kick-Off
The Brownsville Public Utilities Board (BPUB) officially kicked-off the “Fat, Oil and Grease” (FOG) public outreach campaign during its regular scheduled (PUBCAP) meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 16 in the Administration Building Boardroom located at 1425 Robinhood Drive.
During the meeting, BPUB will also announce its collaboration with the City of Matamoros’ new FOG outreach program which will provide their sanitary sewer department with bilingual marketing materials to assist their “Proyecto Integral de Agua y Saneamiento.”
In addition, BPUB, Healthy Communities of Brownsville Inc., and the Valley Proud Environmental Council will work together to educate the public and commercial establishments about the effects FOG has on the environment and water system.
On November 2015, BPUB received a $25,000 grant from the Border Environment Cooperation Commission (BECC) in support of the FOG Outreach Campaign in Brownsville.
