BPUB Working to Restore Payment System

Posted in

The payment system used by the Brownsville Public Utilities Board (BPUB) is currently down, but customers needing to pay their bills still have options. During this time, BPUB will not be conducting disconnects of service, and late fees will not be assessed for accounts affected by this interruption.

BPUB is working to restore the system for customers to use. In the meantime, customers may be unable to look up account information by phone or online. Customer service representatives at the BPUB Administration Building also are unable to look up customer accounts. This means that representatives are unable to make payment arrangements as well.

However, BPUB customers who need to make payments do have a few options.

In person – Customer service representatives at the BPUB Administration Building can’t look up the account information. Customers need to know the BPUB account number, address and name on the account. Credit cards payments currently can’t be processed, but customers can pay with cash, check or money order.

Online – One-time online payments are operational.
Authorized pay stations – Authorized pay stations include H-E-B, Lopez and El Globo food stores.

Drop box – This is located at the BPUB Administration Building. Customers should include the account number on any check or money order left in the drop box.

Mail – Customers can mail payment to P.O. Box 660566, Dallas, TX, 75266-0566.

Payments will not be credited to customer accounts until the system is back up. BPUB apologizes for the inconvenience this may cause to its customers and are working to restore the payment system as quickly as possible.
