BPUB Raises Money for Project SHARE Through Golf Tournament
Project SHARE was created in 1985 to assist the community. Since we work and live here, the Brownsville Public Utilities Board (BPUB) believes in sharing resources with those who may need a helping hand, including senior citizens on fixed incomes and low-income families in emergency situations who may experience difficulty in paying their BPUB electric, water or wastewater bill.
Throughout the year, BPUB customers are able to help their neighbors by adding one or more dollars for Project SHARE to their bill payment each month.
Another aspect of Project SHARE includes scholarships that encourage and enable high school seniors to pursue educational opportunities by providing financial support. Scholarship money is provided by the annual BPUB Project SHARE Golf Tournament.
This year, the tournament was held at River Bend Golf Course, and despite some early rain fears, the tournament was able to proceed as planned. The weather might have made play more challenging for the players, but it didn’t affect the fun that all players as well as BPUB volunteers had at the event.
Congratulations to all the winners at the tournament!
Once again, BPUB received several generous sponsorships for the 2015 Project SHARE Golf Tournament. We wanted to thank all of the sponsors and donors who helped make this program such a success in our community.
