BPUB Prepares for Rain Event
The Brownsville Public Utilities Board (BPUB) is proactively monitoring weather conditions and preparing its teams and infrastructure to maintain service reliability and respond swiftly to any impacts from an approaching storm.
Weather forecasts indicate heavy rainfall expected in our service area beginning June 18.
In preparation for this weather event, BPUB has taken the following measures:
- Monitoring weather forecasts and coordinating preparedness efforts across all departments.
- Reviewing emergency procedures and ensuring all vehicles and equipment are fueled and/or charged.
- Additional personnel have been placed on standby and are ready to deploy as needed.
“The safety of our customers and the reliability of our services are our top priorities,” BPUB General Manager and CEO Marilyn D. Gilbert said. “We are actively preparing to minimize any potential impacts as a result of this weather event.”
BPUB urges customers to take the following precautions:
- Stay Informed: Monitor BPUB’s official channels for updates on service disruptions and restoration efforts.
- Report Outages: In case of power outages, customers should report them at https://assist.brownsville-pub.com or by calling 956-983-6300.
- Emergency Preparedness: Have an emergency kit ready with essentials such as food, water, medications and pet supplies.
