BPUB: Water Main Break Causes Water Service Disruption
BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Approximately 750 Brownsville Public Utilities Board (BPUB) customers, in the areas of Coffeeport Road and Jaime Zapata Avenue, are without water this morning as crews isolate a six-inch water main break.
Crews are working to repair a potable water main break that occurred last night at around midnight and are working to de-water and isolate the break and make the repair. Because of the level of ground water saturation, crews have not given an estimated time for this repair. BPUB has been working non-stop since this line break was discovered, and pumping out water from the site to enable crews to make the needed repairs and restore service as quickly as possible.
Residents living in the following subdivisions: Villa del Rey, Plantation, Lomas del Bosque, Gutierrez and Fairfield, are experiencing a temporary water interruption. BPUB apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and will keep the public updated of the progress of this situation via the BPUB website, Facebook, Twitter and with the BPUB mobile application that may be downloaded from the BPUB website at www.brownsville-pub.com.
