BPUB Issues Boil Water Notice

BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Due to a break in a 16-inch water line at Minnesota Avenue and Bernal Drive, the Brownsville Public Utilities Board, in accordance with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), notifies customers within the boundaries of FM 802 to the north, FM 511/Dockberry Road to the south, Central Avenue to the west and Oklahoma Avenue to the east to boil their water prior to consumption.

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to consumption. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source. When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the BPUB will notify its customers.

Brownsville PUB Aviso de Hervir El Agua

Debido a una rotura de la linea de agua de 16 pulgadas en la avenida de Minnesota Avenue y la calle Bernal Drive, el Brownsville Public Utilities Board, de acuerdo con la Comisión de Calidad Ambiental de Texas (TCEQ, por sus siglas en Ingles), notifica a los clientes dentro de los límites de FM 802 hacia el norte, FM 511/Dockberry Road hacia el sur, Central Avenue al oeste y Oklahoma Avenue al este, que hiervan el agua antes de que sea ingerida.

Con el propósito de eliminar toda bacteria y otros microbios perjudiciales a la salud, se les pide a los usuarios que hiervan el agua que se va a usar para tomar, cocinar y hacer hielo. El agua debe hervirse a temperatura alta hasta que haga burbujas y luego continuar hirviéndola por dos minutos. En lugar de agua hervida, puede comprarse agua embotellada, o puede obtenerla de otra fuente.
