Some BPUB Customers to Experience Water Service Interruption

The Brownsville Public Utilities Board (BPUB) announces there will be a water service interruption Friday, Aug. 5, from 1:30 a.m. until approximately 6 a.m., as crews replace an 8” water main line valve. The service interruption will affect more than 500 customers.

The valve will be installed at Old Alice Road and Poinciana Drive. Streets impacted by the temporary water service disruption include Old Alice Road, Poinciana Drive, Stillinger Driver, Sapphire Court, San Miguel Circle, Amira Drive, Hidden Valley Drive, Shadowbrook Lane, Fireside Drive and Candlewick Court. Villa Madrid Apartments will also be impacted by this service interruption, and other nearby streets might also experience a temporary loss in service or water pressure.

Work was scheduled for the evening to minimize the impact on customers. While this work is being completed, the intersection of Old Alice Road and Poinciana Drive will be closed. Traffic from the frontage road will be clear until FM 802.Traffic from FM 802 traveling toward frontage road will be redirected to Poinciana Drive.
