BROWNSVILLE, Texas – The Brownsville Public Utilities Board (BPUB) announces there will be a water service interruption Tuesday, May 1, from 9 p.m. until about 6 a.m. Wednesday, as crews replace water valves. The service interruption will affect approximately 200 customers.

Crews will be replacing two 4-inch water valves, one 6-inch water valve and one 8-inch water valve at East University Boulevard and Impala Drive and East 30th Street and Calle Milpa Verde. The area impacted by the temporary water service disruption includes the following: Impala Drive, East 30th Street, Calle Milpa Verde, Delta Drive, East Avenue, East University Boulevard, Carolina Street, Elena Street, Tampico Street, Dana Street and Jessica Street.

This work is part of BPUB’s ongoing water valve replacement project to maintain the city’s water infrastructure.
