Temporary Power Outage in North Brownsville

Approximately 1,600 Brownsville Public Utilities Board (BPUB) customers in north Brownsville experienced a power outage at 9:49 a.m. Crews are currently investigating the cause of the power outage and working to get power restored as soon as possible. The cold and wet weather that Brownsville has been experiencing can often result in power outages, but crews will work to minimize any time that customers will be without service. BPUB Announces US 77/83 Temporary Closure

The Brownsville Public Utilities Board (BPUB) announces a temporary closure of northbound Interstate Highway 77/83 (US77/83) on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, from midnight to approximately 5:30 a.m. BPUB crews will temporarily close the northbound portion of the expressway from FM1732 to TX550/FM511 as BPUB personnel repair street lighting. BROWNSVILLE, Texas – The Brownsville Public Utilities Board (BPUB) announces there will be a water service interruption Tuesday, Dec. 22, from 10 p.m. until approximately 3 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, as crews install a fire hydrant. The Brownsville Public Utilities Board (BPUB) announces there will be a water service interruption starting Friday, July 31 at 11 p.m. until approximately 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1 that will affect more than 100 customers in the area of Russell Drive, Lakeside Boulevard, West Washington Street, West Elizabeth Street, West St. Francis Street, West 13th Street, West 14th Street and Power Plant Drive.
