The Brownsville Public Utilities Board (BPUB) will release its annual drinking water quality report to customers beginning Thursday, May 18. The Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) includes the most recent findings of community water sampling studies for the BPUB water treatment plants as well as for the Southmost Regional Water Authority (SRWA) desalination plant.

Distribution of the water quality report is by mail with customer bills or attached to the e-bill for customers who receive their statements online. To obtain a copy of the water quality report, the public may visit the BPUB Administration Building at 1425 Robinhood Drive or go to www.brownsville-pub.com.

The CCR, mandated by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to all municipal water providers in Texas, must be received by all customers by July 1. It includes data on many different things, including the sources of water, educational health information as well as constituents found in the water. All drinking water, including bottled water, can contain some measure of constituents. BPUB’s water meets all state and federal guidelines for drinking water. The report also includes information on how you can contact BPUB with any questions or concerns.
