BPUB Raises Money for Assistance Program Through Golf Tournament

Project SHARE was created in 1985 to assist the community in paying their utility bill. The Brownsville Public Utilities Board (BPUB) believes in aiding those who may need a helping hand, including senior citizens on fixed incomes and low-income families in emergency situations who may experience difficulty in paying their BPUB electric, water or wastewater bill.

Project SHARE also is used to provide scholarships to graduating high school seniors to pursue further educational opportunities. Scholarship money is provided by the annual BPUB Project SHARE Golf Tournament.

The tournament was again held at River Bend Golf Course, and the players enjoyed not just the beautiful weather but the beautiful golf course as well. BPUB staff and players gathered early in the morning for the fun, competition and good cause. The reason for the tournament – helping those in the community – was never out of the minds of everyone who was there, and we appreciate the continued support of all of our sponsors who year after year show their commitment to the people of Brownsville.

Congratulations to all the winners at the tournament! Once again, BPUB received several generous sponsorships for the 2016 Project SHARE Golf Tournament. We wanted to thank all of the sponsors and donors who helped make this program such a success in our community.
