BPUB Invites Community to Learn More About Their Drinking Water

The Brownsville Public Utilities Board (BPUB) will hold an open meeting at the Board Room at the BPUB Administration Building on Wednesday, July 15 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. to explain the Drinking Water Quality Report and discuss the city’s drinking water.

The Drinking Water Quality Report, also known as the Consumer Confidence Report (CCR), is an annual report mandated by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality that provides consumers information about the quality of the water that comes out of their taps. It includes data on many different things, including the sources of water, educational health information as well as constituents found in the water. All drinking water, including bottled water, can contain some measure of constituents. BPUB’s water meets all state and federal guidelines for drinking water. The report also includes information on how you can contact BPUB with any questions or concerns.

The report is sent to all BPUB customers in the mail with their bill and is posted on the BPUB website. BPUB personnel will be at the meeting to explain what the report means and to answer any other questions that participants might have regarding Brownsville’s drinking water. Questions will be answered in both English and Spanish.

This free presentation is a great opportunity to learn more about the quality of Brownsville’s drinking water. The public is encouraged to come out for the event Wednesday from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
